Railway Puts $1 Million Forward To Save Grizzly Bears

Canadian Pacific Railway are to spend $1 million on research to deter grizzly bears from walking onto the tracks. Twelve bears have been killed in the past decade and six cubs orphaned.

It’s believed the bears are attracted to spilled grain or animal carcasses on the tracks.

Animal deaths are a problem on the roads and rails in the national parks so the news has been welcomed by staff of Canada Parks.
